According to a report published by Cavendish Maxwell, the hotel industry in Dubai is set for a significant expansion of its workforce. Over 11,300 new rooms are expected to open by 2027. Of these, 4,620 will be opened in 2025. This growth is expected create approximately 15,000 direct jobs in the hospitality industry and between 36,000-50,000 indirect roles within related industries including retail, logistic, transport, and tourist services.

According to industry experts, Dubai’s high service hospitality market requires 1.3 employees on average per room. Luxury hotels require even more staff. The 2025 pipeline includes new hotels in all categories, including the luxury segment which will add 1,685 bedrooms across eight properties.

Dubai’s tourism industry continues to drive the demand for hospitality talent. In 2024, the city recorded 18,72 million overnight guests, a 9.1 percent increase year-on-year. The sector contributed AED236 billion to the UAE economy, which represents 12 per cent of GDP. Hotel occupancy reached 78 per cent and average daily rates reached AED 690,00, signaling sustained market stability.

As the hospitality industry expands, talent acquisition and workforce planning remain top priorities. Employers will be expected to invest in hiring strategies, training and retention strategies to meet the growing demand and ensure service excellence. Dubai’s continued investments in tourism infrastructure strengthens its status as an international hospitality hub and offers long-term employment across multiple industries.
