Air France-KLM has partnered with Accenture to migrate its digital apps to the cloud. As part a multi-year program, the group is moving its three existing data centres and hopes that this will improve operations including passenger transport and aircraft repair and increase agility.
Accenture and its partners have created a common operational model. A “cloud-migration factory” using predefined processes and reusable template has been established and 350 applications are already moved.
“This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the ongoing digital transformation of Air France-KLM,” said Pierre-Olivier Bandet.
Bandet stated that by leveraging cloud-based AI and automation, we can create more agile and efficient operations which will enhance performance and agility across the organization.
“Our work together with Accenture will unlock new opportunities for us to streamline processes, optimize decisions, and leverage data in order to continuously improve the experience of millions customers,” Bandet said.
Sabine Bechelani said that Accenture, as managing director for travel, and client account leader, is harnessing the cloud and gen-AI to create new growth opportunities.
Bechelani stated that “this collaboration underscores our capability to help clients establish a digital core needed to compete successfully in an operationally complex, highly competitive market for air travel. As we have done this, our clients are able to innovate and thrive with speed, efficiency and information access.”
Air France-KLM announced their partnership with Google Cloud at the end of 2024. The group stated that it hoped to gain an understanding of passengers’ preferences, travel patterns, and behavior in order to tailor services for travelers. The collaboration allows airlines to also take advantage of Google’s artificial intelligence expertise.
