Air India signed a marketing agreement with Tourism Australia on Thursday for a period of three years to increase the number Indian tourists visiting Australia.

According to a press release, Tourism Australia and Air India have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore marketing opportunities to showcase Australia’s global appeal and drive future visitation growth.

“We are thrilled to partner with Tourism Australia in order to help travellers experience the unique offerings of this destination. As we broaden our network across the globe, we aim to deepen our presence in Australia as well,” said Campbell Wilson, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, Air India.

Phillipa Harrison said:

“We are eager to see the arrivals of Indians continue to grow in Australia.”

As Vistara prepares for the merger with Air India, many passengers reflect on their past experiences and express mixed feelings. The airlines are ensuring that the transition is smooth with comprehensive arrangements including integrated flight codes and continued services. They also have dedicated support teams. Air India’s expanded offerings and network will carry on the legacy of Vistara.

The agreement between Tourism Australia and Air India demonstrates our commitment to strengthening relationships and exploring new ways of encouraging Indian travellers to plan and reserve a holiday in Australia. We look forward working closely with Air India in order to promote Australia as a vacation destination.

Andrew Hogg, Tourism Australia’s Executive Director of Eastern Markets and Aviation said: “India is a valuable tourism market for Australia. We’re excited to work with Air India to further enhance Australia’s appeal to high-yielding Indian business and leisure travellers.”
