Air India Group currently operates around 8,500 flights a week on 312 domestic routes and international routes. Tata Group’s Air India, which has merged with Vistara, a full-service carrier, currently has a total 67 wide-body aircraft, including 7 Vistara.

Air India Vistara together is India’s second largest airline. Sources said that the entity has 210 aircraft serving 91 destinations on 174 routes, with 5,600 flights per week. Tata Group also owns Air India Express. On October 1, the two companies merged to form Air India Express.

Air India Express has 90 narrow-body planes. Air India Group has 300 aircraft, including 80 narrow-body planes and 60 wide-body planes. Air India Group, together with its 300 aircraft, serves 103 destinations – 55 domestic and 48 foreign.

The sources stated that the group operates 312 routes at the moment, 160 domestic and the other 152 overseas. The total number per week is approximately 8,500. The fleet of the group includes Boeing 777s, 777s-200LRs, 787s, 787s, A320s and A350s.

According to the latest official data, Air India, Vistara, and AIX Connect had a combined domestic market share of just over 29 percent in September. The group is expanding operations and will introduce more planes in the coming months.

Air India pilots announced in-flight on Tuesday that today marks a special milestone in the merger of Vistara. They also emphasized that “the signature Vistara inflight experience” continues on the Vistara aircraft. Vistara aircraft are identified by code ‘AI2″.
