Cebu Pacific, a low-cost carrier based in the Philippines, launched direct flights between Manila & Chiang Mai on February 2.

Cebu Pacific’s newest addition to its network allows travellers to visit the mountainous area of northern Thailand without having to leave the Philippine capital.

The flights between Manila and Chiang Mai are scheduled to operate three times a week, every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

The airline held a launch event at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport with the Thai ambassador to the Philippines Tull Traisorat and Tourism Authority of Thailand director Yatika Kawaewborisoot.

Cebu Pacific President Xander Lao spoke at the event and highlighted the airline’s commitment in offering passengers more chances to explore the world.

Lao said:

“Cebu Pacific is dedicated to connecting Filipinos with popular destinations that were previously difficult-to-reach.”

Cebu Pacific is committed to making air travel accessible to all. The launch Manila-Chiang Mai route is more than just a new route in its growing network.

Northern Thailand is now easier to reach

This route will allow passengers to travel to Chiang Mai in a more efficient and shorter manner, saving up to eight hours. Direct flights can also save travellers up to 64 percent of their flight costs.

Direct flights between Manila to Chiang Mai have begun. More Filipinos can now enjoy the popular Lantern Festival in November, bring home Thai handicrafts and visit Wat Phra that Doi Suthep – one of the most revered temples in Chiang Mai.

TAT offered Thai snacks to passengers on the maiden flight as a way to commemorate this historic event.
