Airport authorities have confirmed that operations at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) are now back to normal. All flights are now operating as planned following an improvement in runway visibility due to fog.
Delhi Airport officials shared an update at 7.30 PM that visibility had improved at the airport, allowing for all flight operations.
“Update issued at 19:00 hours.” Attention to all flyers All flights are flying normally and the visibility on the runway has improved at Delhi Airport. For updated flight information, passengers are asked to contact their airline,” Delhi airport authorities stated in a post on X.
Delhi was covered in dense fog this morning causing delays for both train and flight services. The city was also hit by cold waves and a drop in temperature. Fog at Indira Ghandi International Airport caused delays to several flights.
Earlier, several flights were delayed at Delhi Airport due to fog and poor conditions of visibility.
Delhi’s temperature was 10 degrees Celsius when the India Meteorological Department recorded it at 5.30am on Sunday. Yesterday, at this time, the city’s temperatures were 10.2 degrees Celsius. Fog has caused several trains to be late at New Delhi Railway Station.
The air quality of the capital city remained in a very poor category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the AQI for Delhi today at 6am was 377. Yesterday, the AQI was 385.

Residents of the capital gathered around bonfires in response to the cold weather. Many North Indian states experienced similar weather conditions on Sunday morning. They were also accompanied by dense fog and cold wave.
