Etihad will increase its flights to Air Europa’s hub at Madrid to twice daily by summer 2025. This will provide seamless access between Abu Dhabi, Spain and Europe. The partnership would create seamless travel options between Europe and Latin America and the Middle East and Asia.

Arik De said that Etihad Airways’ Chief Revenue and Commercial, Arik De stated: “We are currently in discussions about establishing a strategic partnership that will cover a range activities, including deepening the codeshare and frequent traveler programme to enable both airlines to expand to new frontiers and a wet leasing operation with an Air Europa between Madrid and Abu Dhabi.”

“Any partnership would benefit both airlines’ customers, underlining our commitment to offer our valued clients a seamless travel and access to an expanded network, which includes Air Europa’s leading Latin America Network.”

We are very pleased to expand our partnership with Etihad Airways into a scenario that will be even more rewarding for our customers. Air Europa General Manager Richard Clark stated that by launching our operations between Madrid Barajas and Abu Dhabi we will be able to further extend our reach into the Middle East, Asia and the Americas.

Etihad’s and Air Europa’s partnership already includes bilateral codesharing, allowing members of both frequent flyer programmes the opportunity to earn and redeem points on each other’s flights.

Air Europa’s presence in the Middle East and Asia will be further strengthened by this enhanced collaboration, which will leverage Etihad Abu Dhabi’s hub to provide greater connectivity for customers.
