On 30 March, the summer season begins for the tourism sector, in which Iberia has planned a capacity increase in practically all markets.Particularly noteworthy are the routes to Latin America, where the Spanish airline is the undisputed leader with the largest number of destinations, 18 in 16 countries.

In 2025 connectivity will be higher than ever, even surpassing last year’s figures. There will be 3.2 million seats between two regions, which is 4% more in 2024. This translates to more than 300 weekly flights.

Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo will experience the largest increase in weekly frequencies, adding 3 flights per week in both cases. Buenos Aires, for example, will have 21 weekly frequency this season, which is three daily flights. Sao Paulo’s frequency will be increased to 14 weekly flights, consolidating two daily flights.

Lima will also add an additional frequency so that this summer it will be possible to fly to the Peruvian capital twice a day from May onwards. Iberia is committed to maintaining the proposal made last year in the rest of the Latin American destinations, and so Mexico and Bogota will maintain the triple daily service this summer and Montevideo and Quito the daily one.

Santiago de Chile will have 10 weekly frequencies during the first part of the season and from June onwards it will increase, like last year, to 11 weekly flights. Rio de Janeiro will maintain its five weekly frequencies, Caracas will have between three and five weekly flights depending on the month, and Guayaquil will have three weekly frequencies.

In Central America, the offer is similar to that in 2024. Puerto Rico, Santo Domingo, Costa Rica, Guatemala and San Salvador will maintain daily flights. Panama will have up to four frequencies a week and Havana will continue with three weekly frequencies.

The United States: a firm commitment to time

Iberia’s commitment towards the United States will be strengthened by the introduction of the new A321XLRs over the next few months. The United States is the country with the highest number of destinations within the airline’s international network.

In 2025, the airline will offer 140 weekly flights between Spain, United States and Canada, which is 14% more than the previous year. Iberia flies non-stop to New York (2 daily), Chicago (1 daily), Miami (2 daily), Dallas Forth Worth (1 daily), Los Angeles (1 daily), San Francisco (3 weekly frequencies), Boston (2 daily) and Washington (1 daily).

Boston will double its 2024 flight offer from June to two daily flights, and Washington will increase weekly frequencies from four to seven. Both destinations will be operated by the new A321XLR aircraft, a narrow-body model with the capacity to cross the Atlantic, of which Iberia has been the world’s launch airline.

Tokyo and Doha

Flights to Japan began last winter season on 27 October with three weekly frequencies, on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The number of frequencies for this summer season will remain the same, so that 63 000 seats are available from April to October. During the initial months of operation the occupancy rate was above 90%.

Flights to Qatar will also remain unchanged next summer season, with one direct daily flight between Madrid and Doha operated by Iberia, plus two additional code-share flights with Qatar Airways. It will be possible to fly from Madrid to Doha three times per day. This route not only allows point-to-point travel, but also connects Doha with 49 destinations in Asia and Africa, 18 in Middle East, and 6 in Oceania.

Europe: Seasonal flights return

Iberia, a Spanish company, will concentrate its growth in Europe on its core European markets, France and Italy being the most important. Paris will have four additional weekly frequencies this summer. The Spanish airline is offering up to eleven direct flight per day.
And Rome will increase its offer with five additional frequencies per week, offering between six and seven daily flights, depending on the day of the week, to coincide with the Jubilee Year in Rome in 2025. Brussels and Vienna will also have more flights this summer. The two new weekly frequencies will give them a total of four direct flights each day.

Every summer, the season’s destinations return. On 7 June, flights to Ponta Delgada, in the Azores, will resume with three weekly frequencies. Iberia offers this route for a third consecutive year. Funchal and Faro will also restart this summer too, both with up to five flights a week. The offer to Portugal is complemented by flights to Lisbon (up to 36 flights a week) and Porto (up to 28 frequencies a week).

On 7 June, flights to Tirana, in Albania return for the second year, with up to three flights a week. And on 27 July, flights to Ljubljana in Slovenia resume with two flights a week.

The Greek Islands are a regular attraction every summer. From June, direct flights will be available to Santorini, Mykonos (5-6 weekly flights each) and Corfu (which will reach 7 weekly frequencies in August). In addition, the Athens route will be reinforced, reaching 30 weekly frequencies during August (3 more than in 2024).

Croatia is another star for the summer season. Dubrovnik will be part of Iberia Summer’s network again, with up to 17 flights per week, two more than 2024. Zagreb will have up to nine frequencies, the same as the previous year, and Split up to nine flights.

In Italy, Catania, Olbia, Cagliari and Palermo will also operate again this season, reaching the same offer as in 2024. Iberia offers 16 million seats on the short and mid-haul, the exact same number as 2024.
