IndiGo, India’s leading airline, announced four new codeshare connections between India and the United States that will be effective from December 18, 2020. In collaboration with Turkish Airlines, the airline will offer flights to Houston IAH, Atlanta ATL, Miami MIA and Los Angeles LAX via Istanbul. IndiGo now has nine destinations in the US, a significant increase for both business and pleasure travellers.
These new connections are a part of IndiGo’s broader vision of enhancing its international connectivity, and providing customers with a wider range of destinations in the United States. IndiGo and Turkish Airlines’ partnership has now expanded to 43 destinations around the world.

The budget airline has operated its first widebody-Boeing 777 aircraft since the beginning of February 2023. IndiGo said that these aircraft are being introduced to meet the increasing demand for international flights from India. Flight operations between Mumbai and Istanbul began on May 17.
The new routes will connect passengers with major US cities, such as Houston, which is known for its space exploration connections and vibrant food scene, Atlanta, an historical and cultural center, Miami, a cosmopolitan and Latin-inspired city, and Los Angeles, a city famous for its Hollywood charm, diverse attractions, and rich art. These new connections provide more options for travellers who want to connect to the US via India and elsewhere.
Air India and Singapore Airlines expand their destinations Air India (AI) and Singapore Airlines, (SIA), have significantly expanded their partnership by adding 11 new Indian destinations and 40 additional international destinations. This is the most extensive codeshare extension between the airlines since 2010 and provides travelers with enhanced connections between Singapore, India, & beyond. IndiGo extends wet lease on Boeing 777s IndiGo is exploring with the civil Aviation Ministry the possibility of an extension of the wet leasing of wide-body Boeings 777 planes, as the current lease period expires this week. IndiGo operates two Boeing 747-400 planes that are currently leased by Turkish Airlines for flights from Delhi to Istanbul.
