Gulf Air, the national airline of the Kingdom of Bahrain has announced the launch of flights direct to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi, Kenya. This will further expand its network in Africa. This service marks Gulf Air’s return to Nairobi. It re-establishes a vital connection to the capital, which was last served by the airline in 2012.
From June 2, 2025, the airline plans to operate five flights per week to Nairobi. The airline will offer services on Mondays and Wednesdays with two flights on Fridays. All flights will be operated by modern Airbus A320neo planes. This direct service is in line with Gulf Air’s strategy to expand and serve new markets. It offers passengers greater convenience and choice for travel between East Africa, Bahrain and beyond.
Jeffrey Goh, Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Air Group, stated: “We’re delighted to announce that direct flights will be offered to Nairobi. This will provide convenient flight options for our passengers.”
The Nairobi route is expected to improve connectivity between Bahrain and Kenya for both business and leisure travellers. Gulf Air offers a mobile app that allows passengers to book flights and track flight times.
The service from Gulf Air to Nairobi is provided by flight GF 0707 departing Bahrain International Airport at 09:00, arriving at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at 14:25. This flight operates on Mondays and Wednesdays. The return flight GF0708 will operate the same days. It will depart NBO at 15;25 and arrive back in BAH by 20:45. Flights GF 0709 depart BAH at 01:30 and arrive at NBO at 07.05. These flights operate on Sundays and Fridays. The return flight GF0710 departs NBO the same days at 8:05 and arrives back in BAH by 13:25. All times are local.
