Oman Air recorded its highest-ever seat occupancy in January 2025. A total load factor of 88 percent reflects the number of seats filled by passengers. It also shows how efficiently the airline used its capacity. Oman Air has flown to 41 destinations in the last month. Several of them achieved load factors up to 95%.
According to the most recent figures from the International Air Transport Association(IATA), the airline has surpassed its global average which was 83.5% by 2024. The Business Class seats were also occupied to an impressive 77%. Gleichzeitig, the airline is growing its market share from point to point to attract more tourists to Oman and contribute towards the country’s goals.
Con Korfiatis is the Chief Executive Officer at Oman Air. He said: “We’re very proud of this record load-factor, which reflects our network strength and shows the changes we made to the business have started to bear fruit.” We can see strong booking momentum as we look to the summer season. We continue to focus on maintaining this growth by providing exceptional service to our customers and more options for travel.”
Oman Air started a major transformation project in 2023. The goal was to achieve financial breakeven by the end of three years, while also contributing positively to Oman’s socio-economic objectives. The airline reported its performance highlights in 2024, which was the first year of the transformation. Significant progress was made due to a comprehensive study of the network, a focus placed on profitable routes and a modernisation programme introducing efficient new aircraft, while retiring older, more expensive ones.
Oman Air offers a variety of fares and three cabin classes to serve over 40 destinations. Oman Air continues to be uncompromising with its commitment to reliability and quality, maintaining the highest On-Time performance rankings in the world throughout 2024. They have also won a series of prestigious international awards, cementing their reputation as a trusted carrier.
