Since February 15, ITA Airways has introduced the “Inspired by Alitalia’ sticker on three new-generation aircraft in its fleet.
ITA Airways, which announced the new brand on September 27, 2024 and has gradually rolled it out across strategic touchpoints like the app and website as a gesture of gratitude for a proud history, has decided to pair the expression with its logo as a statement of deep gratitude.
The first aircraft to sport this phrase on its livery will be a state-of-the-art Airbus A350, which operates on long-haul routes, and it will debut on Saturday, February 15, 2025, flying on the Rome Fiumicino – Tokyo Haneda route. “Inspired by Alitalia”, will also be featured on two other aircraft in the Summer of 2025. An Airbus A321neo for medium-haul routes and an Airbus A220-100 for short-haul flights.
This is how the company works to become the airline that people choose to fly with, not just because they want to visit Italy but also because Italy is in their heart. Alitalia, a key asset of ITA Airways, pays tribute to the aviation history and the pioneering excellence of Italy in air transportation. ITA Airways aims through this concrete and ambitious initiative to associate Alitalia with its own distinctive “ITA Airways” logo, reinforcing their values of excellence that are universally recognised worldwide.
Alitalia, Italy’s national carrier, operated for over 70-years before ceasing to operate in October 2021. Established in 1946, Alitalia played a key role in connecting Italy and global destinations by offering both domestic as well as international flights. Alitalia was plagued by financial problems despite its strong brand recognition. It was eventually replaced by ITA Airways. Alitalia, known for its distinctive livery, service quality and catering to both business and leisure travelers, was a symbol of Italian Aviation until its last flight.
