The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) was among those who welcomed ITA Airways’ first flight on its direct Rome-Bangkok routes. This new direct route allows Italian travellers to access Thailand’s renowned attractions, vibrant culture and streamlined travel.

The inaugural ITA Airways Flight AZ0758 arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport on Sunday, the 17th of November. It was an Airbus A330 900neo, with a seating capacity for 291. Over 300 passengers, including ITA Airways executives, and travel industry leaders from Italy, were aboard.

Siripakorn Cheawsamoot is the TAT deputy governor of international marketing. He said: “We welcome ITA Airways’ new Rome-Bangkok services, which offer Italian travellers access Thailand’s culture and beaches while strengthening ties with our countries. This route will encourage travel and cultural interchange, benefiting both business and tourist travellers.”

Cheawsamoot welcomed passengers at the airport, and presented them with souvenirs commemorating the occasion.
