Malaysia Airlines has celebrated its inaugural flight to Kolkata, CCU (CCU), marking a milestone in its mission of providing seamless connectivity between Malaysian and key destinations throughout South Asia.

Malaysia Airlines, in partnership IndiGo, connects Malaysia with 16 destinations across India. This service further enhances travel options for passengers. The first flight MH184 departed Kuala Lumpur International Airport, at 9:45pm, local time. It connected passengers to the vibrant culture heart of India.

Flight MH184, operated by a Boeing 737-8 aircraft, had a 93% flight load, demonstrating a high demand for visitors to CCU. As a token, all passengers boarding from Kuala Lumpur were given a Malaysia Airlines travel pouch. They also had the opportunity to take photos in a specially designed booth. The return flight MH185 departed Kuala Lumpur from 12:10am to arrive at 6:40am with a 91% load.

The pre-departure ceremonies at Gate C2 showcased Indian culture and Malaysian hospitality. Ahmad Luqman Mohd Azmi was the Chief Executive Officer for Airlines at Malaysia Aviation Group, and Dersenish aresandiran was the Chief Commercial Officer for Airlines. As a symbol of Malaysian hospitality, passengers were served chai with light Indian music.

Ahmad Luqman Mohd Azmi emphasized the importance of the route by saying: “We are thrilled to recommence flights between Kuala Lumpur, and the bustling metropolis Kolkata, strengthening the relationship between Malaysia and India, while opening exciting opportunities both for leisure and business travelers.”
