Malaysia Airlines marked its return to Paris with the recommencement of its inaugural direct flight to Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG). Flight MH22 departed Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1 on 22 March at 11.45pm local (MYT). It arrived at Paris at 6.40am local (CET) the following morning. This was Malaysia Airlines’ 68th flight destination, and it reinforced its position as a gateway into Asia and beyond.

To commemorate this milestone, a send off event was held on the departure gate. Passengers were given special goody bags as a souvenir. Malaysia Aviation Group representatives, including Boo Yue Yee, Group Financial Officer and Dersenish Arsandiran as Chief Commercial Officer, attended the event.

The inaugural flights were met with an overwhelming response. Flight loads for MH22, and the return sector, MH21, reached 95 per cent and 98% respectively, reflecting a strong demand for travel to and from France and Malaysia. Malaysia Airlines will operate four flights per week between Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Paris, France from 22-27 March 2025. Daily flights will be introduced on 29 March.

Dersenish Aresandiran, Chief Commercial Officer of Airlines from MAG, said, “The launch of our direct service to Paris marks a significant milestone for Malaysia Airlines as we expand our European footprint and reconnect Malaysia with one of the world’s most iconic destinations. This route not just strengthens our position in Asia and beyond, it also reflects the increasing demand for seamless travel between Malaysian and France. In anticipation of this return, we introduced the ‘Time for Paris’ campaign last year, inviting travellers to rediscover the magic of the City of Light with Malaysia Airlines’ signature Malaysian Hospitality. We are delighted to now bring this trip to life and we look forward to welcoming our passengers on board to a truly memorable experience.”

Malaysia Airlines has also introduced the Time for Memorable Journeys Pocketbook for passengers flying this new route. The Paris Edition, the first in a series, aims to enhance the travel experience through useful tips and tricks for navigating the city. It contains useful information like French etiquette or local phrases. It also provides insights into Parisian cooking.

As part of Malaysia Airlines commitment to enhance global connectivity, the airline’s long-standing partnership has expanded travel options for passengers traveling to and from Paris. The reinstatement of the route allows passengers to access four more U.S. destinations via CDG, including New York (JFK), Dallas(DFW), Miami(MIA), and Orlando(ORD), strengthening Malaysia Airlines’ role as a link between Europe and Asia.
