Royal Jordanian Airlines announced two new nonstop routes connecting Amman, Jordan’s capital, to Mumbai and New Delhi. This will further expand its global network, and improve connectivity for Indian travellers.
The Mumbai service is scheduled to launch on 17 April 2025. Flights from New Delhi will begin on 17 September 2025. Both routes will be operated four times a weekly, highlighting Royal Jordanian’s commitment to strengthening the ties between India & Jordan.
The launch of the airline is part of its broader expansion strategy that aims to position Jordan among Indian travelers as a top tourism destination. By connecting India to over 45 global destinations through Amman, the carrier aims to showcase Jordan’s unique blend of ancient wonders—such as Petra and the Dead Sea—and its vibrant modern culture.
Airbus A320neo aircraft will serve the routes as part of this initiative. They feature dual-class configurations and in-flight entertainment. WiFi services are also available to enhance passenger experiences.

We aim to position Jordan a boutique destination for Indian tourists while strengthening trade and economic links with the two nations.
STIC has been selected as the General Sales Agents (GSA) in India for Jordan’s flag carrier airline. Passengers can fly from India on any carrier to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, and then connect to RJ to continue their journey.
Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL), a company owned by the Mumbai Municipal Corporation, also expressed this enthusiasm. A spokesperson for MIAL stated,
“We are delighted to welcome Royal Jordanian Airlines at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.”
This route will enhance global connectivity and offer seamless travel options in line with our vision for elevating the experience of travel for passengers.The new routes are also in line with Royal Jordanian’s fleet expansion plan which includes the addition 19 new A320neo aircraft and Boeing 787 by 2026. Royal Jordanian will establish Amman as an important gateway to the world by providing Indian travellers with convenient access to Europe and North America.
