Savaari Car Rentals, a leading intercity cab service provider, is taking the lead in redefining intercity travel in India by working with Taxi Operators across the country to provide the ‘Driver Language Preference’ feature to its customers. This feature, which is supported by local taxi operators in 25 cities throughout the country, is now available.
Since its introduction, the innovative feature gained a lot of traction. Savaari Car Rentals has set a new benchmark for smoother and more personalized travel by allowing its customers to request drivers in their preferred language. Taxi Operators are also pleased with this feature because it allows for better coordination and management of customers’ expectations.
This feature is a long-standing need in India, where dialects change every 50 to 100 kilometers. Savaari bridges the communication gap by allowing customers to request drivers that speak their language.
Since its introduction, cities such as Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, and others have been leading in the adoption of Driver Language Preference. Gaurav Aggarwal is the founder and CEO of Savaari Car Rentals. He says that the impact has been significant for both drivers and travelers.
Gaurav Agarwal, founder of Savaari, believes that the post-pandemic travel will create new opportunities for leisure travelers in Tier II cities and III cities.
“The Driver Language Preference features enhances our customers’ travel experience by making them more comfortable and immersive.”
Taxi operators can also earn more money by leveraging the languages skills of their drivers. We’ve seen an increase of 20 per cent in Net Promoter (NPS) for trips where this feature was used, as well as strong repeat business in important markets like Chennai Mumbai and Delhi.
Drivers with multiple languages earn 8-10% higher than their peers. This incentivizes them to upgrade their skills. Savaari Taxi Operators report that almost a third of their drivers are now fluent speakers of at least one language other than the local language. Southern cities like Chennai and Bangalore, Madurai and Mysore are at the forefront of embracing this trend.
Savaari is committed in continuing to strengthen the operations and language proficiency of its taxi operator partner with investment in driver training. The company has developed quizzes and upskilling module within its taxi partner’s app. It also introduces driver-generated local language content in short-video format at the time booking assignment. This will further build customer confidence in their drivers’ language proficiency.
