This Monday, Prime Minster Narendra Modi will be joined by the Spanish President Pedro Sanchez to inaugurate the Tata Airbus C295 aircraft factory in Vadodara. The Spanish president, who is in India for a three-day trip, arrived at Vadodara very early on Monday.
Tata Advanced Systems, in collaboration Airbus Spain, has set up the plant. The facility was built on the TATA Advance Systems Limited (TASL), campus. Tata Advanced Systems Ltd. will be responsible for the manufacture of these 40 aircrafts. This facility is the first private sector Final Assembly Line in India for military aircraft. It will involve a full development of a comprehensive ecosystem from manufacture, assembly, test, and qualification through to delivery and maintainance of the entire lifecycle of the aircraft.
Tatas will not be the only contributor to this program. Bharat Electrics Ltd., Bharat Dynamics, and other public sector units in defence, as well as micro, small, medium, and private enterprises, will also contribute. The C295 is a military plane, and its production will help India’s aerospace sector and propel the country to self-reliance.
