SpiceJet will reintroduce the first Boeing 737 MAX into service on January 29, 2025. This marks a pivotal point in the airline’s strategy to restore its fleet. The operation of the aircraft, which was grounded for several month, will revitalise and enhance the airline’s efficiency.
SpiceJet partnered with StandardAero Inc, one of the leading US-based engine MRO providers, as well as CFM International, Inc., an OEM for LEAP-1B LEAP-1B engines, to expedite the restoration.
SpiceJet aims, as part of its comprehensive fleet-restoration plan, to reintegrate ten planes by mid-April 2025, including four Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. The return of MAX aircraft allows the airline to operate on high-demand routes like Jeddah or Riyadh, without any operational restrictions. Fuel-efficient MAX aircraft offer reduced fuel consumption, fewer maintenance requirements, and better aircraft utilization. This results in significant cost savings, as well as optimised operations.
Ajay Singh said that the re-induction our first Boeing 737 MAX aircraft was a moment of immense proud and an important milestone. It demonstrates our unwavering commitment in restoring and enhancing the operational capacity of our fleet. As we move ahead, we remain focused to scaling new heights, providing exceptional service, driving sustainable growth for passengers and stakeholders.”
SpiceJet expanded its fleet by ten aircraft since October 2024. Three of these aircraft were previously grounded, and seven new aircraft were leased. The airline has been able, through this expansion, to increase its network with more than 60 new flights launched in the past three month. This has improved connectivity for travelers and increased their options.
SpiceJet will unground 10 aircraft by mid-April, including four Boeing 737 MAX, to strengthen its fleet and expand network capabilities. This move follows the airline adding 10 planes to its fleet since October 2024, and aims at improving connectivity with more than 60 new flights. SpiceJet’s commitment to growth and excellence in operations is unwavering.
