SriLankan Airlines is introducing a new daytime service between Bangalore and Colombo, starting October 31, 2024. This will bring the total number of weekly flights between these two cities up to ten. This new service will be aimed at Indian holidaymakers and corporate travelers looking for a short weekend getaway to Sri Lanka.
Flight UL1174 will depart Bangalore at 09:40 on Thursdays. Fridays and Saturdays. Arriving in Colombo by 11:10 am. The return flight UL1173 will leave Colombo from 07:20 am and arrive in Bangalore at 0840 am on the same dates.
The new schedule will allow Bengalureans to travel more easily and efficiently, whether they are on vacation or for work. The flights are conveniently located closer to the weekend so that travelers can take advantage of more daytime hours in Sri Lanka, and efficiently pack their itineraries prior to returning home for a new week. This flight option is particularly attractive for weekend trips.
The geographical and cultural similarities of the two countries are a major factor in Sri Lanka’s increasing appeal as a destination for Indians looking to travel abroad. Many Indian visitors feel at home in Sri Lanka, which is not always the case elsewhere.
SriLankan Airlines will begin its flights to Russia each Friday using an Airbus A330 with 269 economy seats and 28 business class.
The new flight schedule and the compactness of the island allow Indian travelers to experience a variety of experiences within a short time, from the picturesque southern beaches to the historical kovils of the north, to the cooler central province and shopping in Colombo. SriLankan Airlines existing daily flights between Bangalore, Colombo and Hyderabad will continue to operate. SriLankan Airlines has nine cities in India, including Delhi, Mumbai Hyderabad, Kochi Trivandrum, Chennai Trichy and Madurai. Overall, the airline operates almost 90 flights per week between India & Sri Lanka.
