The number of passengers at the Sardar Vallabhbhai-Patel International Airport (SVPI), managed by Adani Airport Holdings Limited, grew by double digits during the third quarter (Q3) of FY25.
Over 3.5million passengers flew into and out of the airport in Q3 FY24, which is 18% more than the 3 million passengers that flew the previous year (Q3 FY24). Aircraft traffic movements (ATMs), also increased by 15 per cent. SVPI airport managed over 27,000 ATMs during the October to December quarter.
According to SVPI Airport – a subsidiary Adani Enterprises Ltd. – on December 22, SVPI Airport served 44,253 passengers using 324 ATMs. The airport also served 43,881 passengers using 318 ATMs and 43,408 with 325 ATMs.
Ahmedabad Airport has seen a lot of innovation, infrastructure and destination additions. These include the Terminal-2 extended Check-in Hall and inter-terminal electric Shuttle Service, Wi-Fi Coupon Dispensers for travellers with non Indian SIM cards, new flight to Da Nang as well as Guwahati.
According to the company’s website, Ahmedabad Airport, the only airport in India, was recognized for its exceptional dedication to energy conservation. It won a prestigious Certificate of Merit during the National Energy Conservation Awards 2024, organized by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency of Ministry of Power.
It also stated that the number of cargoes has increased by 17 percent in Q3 in comparison to the same time period in the previous year.
The SVPI Airport handled more than 17,900 million tonnes of cargo. This included over 1,850 MT in international cargo. These numbers are up over 300 percent from the Q3 of the previous financial year.
