Minor Hotels is experiencing the ‘White Lotus effect’ after three of its Anantara properties featured prominently in the hit HBO series’ third season. Anantara Lawana Koh samui Resort and Anantara Bophut Koh samui Resort saw a 104 percent increase in online traffic, while bookings increased by 180 percent.
The White Lotus season 3 premiere in Thailand has had a significant effect on these properties. It has increased global interest and bookings. February saw an impressive 104 per cent growth in website traffic as well as a 41 percent increase in direct bookings, compared to the same time last year. In addition, the first two episodes aired on 16 and 17 February resulted a 53 percent increase in room nights, with bookings increasing by more that 180 percent on 24 February.
The interest in featured properties was not the only one to increase. Minor Hotels saw a 40% increase in web traffic for all of its Thai properties. Key markets such as the UK, US and India, Germany and France also showed significant growth.
