Cebu is an island province of the Philippines that boasts idyllic beaches with white sand, stunning natural scenery and amazing diving. The island’s natural beauty has led to a booming tourism sector, but it is still a place of relaxation and adventure.

Land in Cebu then travel to Moalboal

Moalboal is the next stop after arriving in Cebu City. Moalboal, located on the Southwestern tip Cebu Island, is one of the most popular towns. It will be your base for your Cebu itinerary. You want to base yourself in the South to avoid travel time and enjoy the coolest adventures in Cebu.

The bus trip from Cebu City takes about 3-4 hours, but it is very affordable (tickets are under $3 USD), so the journey is worth it. You may decide to explore the town after you have settled into your Moalboal accommodations, depending on what time of day you arrive.

Canyoning in Kawasan Falls

Kawasan Falls is a 45-minute drive away. You can reach the falls in about 45 minutes by bus, taxi, or rented car. Kawasan Falls in Cebu are one of the most popular destinations. The river water is a brilliant turquoise, flowing through dense vegetation in a jungle canyon.

The colours and scenery are stunning. Many travellers prefer to relax and take in the beauty of the falls by setting up a picnic table next to the largest and lowest of the three main falls.

Canyoning is also known as Canyoneering. It involves a variety of adventure activities that involve making your way through a canyon/valley. It involves a combination climbing, swimming, hiking and cliff diving.

Snorkel With Sardines & Turtles

Cebu, in particular Moalboal is known for its incredible diving opportunities. The marine life around the island is incredible. On day 3, you can take a leisurely morning and head to Panagsama Beach, where you can spend the day exploring the underwater world.

Moalboal’s sardine run is renowned for its unmatched, year-round sardine runs, which results in almost guaranteed sightings every day of the calendar year! This is a completely natural and ethical phenomenon. The sardines remain untouched by humans, and are protected in the ocean.

Millions of sardines forming tightly packed shoals create vast, sparkling balls which warp and twist their way through the crystal clear water. Snorkeling in these incredible, harmonious schools is an amazing experience.

Waterfalls & Osmeña Peak

Prepare yourself for a busy morning by getting up early and eating breakfast. On day 4, we recommend renting a vehicle to give you the most freedom and flexibility. Alternatively, if you’d prefer someone else to take the wheel, you can book a Osmeña Peak and Kawasan Falls guided tour.

Hop in the car, and head south toward Osmeña Peak. Cambais Falls is only a small detour on the route to Osmeña Peak, and one that’s certainly worth making. The falls are as beautiful as Kawasan Falls, but they offer a completely different experience. The falls are a great place to cool off mid-way during a long journey.

Cebu is a beautiful place with some of my favorite landscapes. A trip to the island paradise will leave you enchanted for a long time.
