  • The Lodge Room

We stayed at the top of the building in one the two master bedrooms.  It had a fireplace as the centrepiece, underfloor heating and traditional wooden beams, plus a private balcony with a wonderful view of the mountains. The other suite was connected by a secret hidden doorway behind a bookcase.

  • The Lodge Suite
  • The Lodge Terrace

The Super king bed was complemented by a comfy upholstered couch and chairs, and there was also a fully stocked Mini-bar. The hotel provides a Nespresso machine and kettle as standard, and the evening turn down service is a pleasant surprise every night. The giant Toblerone was my favorite.

  • Bath
  • Rubber Ducks

The luxurious en suite bathroom is large and spacious with a separate bathtub and shower. Robes and slippers come as standard. Add double washbasins as well as your own rubber Ducks for the bathtub.

  • Verbier
  • Cheese Class

During the summer, Verbier becomes a playground for outdoor enthusiasts. My visit coincides the Verbier E-Bike Festival, and I take the Rando Gourmande – a 35km ride in the mountains stopping at five different gourmet restaurants.

  • Verbier

The weather has also cancelled my paragliding trip. Instead I take a cheese class where I make Raclette and get to take it home – a far safer alternative. There are also scenic walks through the alpine meadows as well as wine tasting tours at nearby vineyards.
