Washington requires that countries meet certain requirements in order to be admitted to the program, which allows visitors traveling for business or tourism to stay up 90 days without a Visa. These include requirements related to counterterrorism, immigration enforcement and enforcement of law, document security and border management. Qatar is only the 42nd country to join the program. Croatia will be added in 2021, and Israel was added last year. The program requires all countries to offer US citizens visa-free travel. US citizens can travel to Qatar currently without a Visa, but they will now be allowed to stay up 90 days instead 30 starting Oct. 1.
