Tourism Malaysia officially launched the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign (VM2026) at an event in Delhi. Muzafar Shah Mohd Ali and Ahmad Johanif Mohd Ali were both present to inaugurate the event.

The launch took place at the Malaysia Networking Dinner held at Hotel Pullman, Aerocity, New Delhi with the official unveiling of the VM2026 logo, featuring the Malayan Sun Bears – Wira and Manja – as the campaign mascots. The vibrant logo represents Malaysia’s rich biodiversity and cultural harmony as well as its commitment to sustainable tourism.

Ahmad Johanif Mohd Ali shared his excitement on the occasion. He said, “Visit Malaysia Year is not just a campaign for tourism; it’s an invitation to experience Malaysia’s warmth, diversity and natural wonders. India is one of our biggest markets and we are committed in making Malaysia more accessible and attractive for Indian travellers.”

He emphasized key efforts such as visa-free entry and improved connectivity to make the destination more attractive to Indian tourists.

The VM2026 Campaign is built upon the pillars for high-yield and sustainable tourism. The campaign promotes quality experiences in luxury, eco-tourism and MICE (Meetings Incentives Conferences and Exhibitions), while protecting Malaysia’s cultural and natural heritage. The campaign encourages Malaysians in various sectors to share their experiences and showcase Malaysia’s renowned hospitality.

Malaysia has seen an increase in Indian tourists visiting the country. There were 1,133,331 Indian tourists between January and December of 2024. That’s a 47.7% increase compared to 2019, and a 71.7% increase compared with 2023. India is Malaysia’s second largest inbound market, especially for the medium-haul segment. Tourism Malaysia wants to strengthen this relationship.

Malaysia has extended 30-day visa-free entries for Indian nationals as part of its ongoing efforts to attract more Indian tourism. This makes travel more convenient, and leads to an increase in bookings at the last minute.

Direct flights from major Indian city, supported by airline partner, have further improved the country’s accessibility. Malaysia is a great destination for Indian tourists looking for a wide range of travel experiences.
