Dolomite Mountains is a company that is committed to preserving and improving the world for future generations. Travel for Future was born out of a desire to become a climate positive company by 2030. This project is aimed at capturing more carbon dioxide than we emit. It also aims to reduce our impact over time and nurture forests to ensure that future generations will have a sustainable environment. This commitment is not just about numbers, it’s about showing our customers and partners a new way of doing business. We know that environmental responsibility, and reducing our carbon footprint, are complex issues which require foresight. The MARC method was applied by our partners Etifor, Wow Nature and we became our guide to eliminate unsustainable behaviors and process.
We offset our direct CO2 emissions and supported the conservation and protection of forests in Alta Badia and Adum. Val di Fiemme was also spared 112 tons. It was an important step, as we cleared areas damaged by the storm Vaia. The bark beetle invasion that followed also helped protect and conserve these vital forests.
As we moved into 2023, not only did we offset 110% of our direct impact, but we also took a step to compensate a portion of indirect impacts from air travel. Supporting the Amazonbai Project in the Bailique Archipelago of Brazil offset 2,219 tons CO2. The Indigenous people, through the Cooperativa dos Produtores Agroextrativistas do Bailique e Beira are actively protecting Amazon rainforests from illegal logging. Our offsets are verified and certified to ensure that our efforts have a positive and real impact. Each step, each measure, and each project we support are recorded and documented in order to maintain the highest levels of transparency and accountability.
