SpiceJet will operate Haj flights from Kolkata, Guwahati and Gaya in 2025. The airline is expected to facilitate the travel for approximately 15,500 people, an 18% increase over the 13,000 pilgrims that traveled in 2024. This growth reflects a growing demand for well organized pilgrimage services.
The airline will operate over 100 special flight for this purpose. Both narrow-body and large-body aircraft will be used to meet the needs of travelers. SpiceJet used wide-body Airbus A340s with 324 passenger capacities in previous Haj flights to ensure pilgrims enjoyed comfortable and efficient travels. In 2025, the operations are expected to build upon this foundation by enhancing arrangements aimed at improving travel experiences.
Haj flights play a crucial role in ensuring that pilgrims can make their journey in a safe, reliable and accessible manner. These special operations require extensive preparation, coordination, and execution, in order to meet specific needs of travelers undertaking the spiritual expedition.
SpiceJet’s Haj operation last year was a great success, generating revenues of INR337 Crore.
