Mindful indulgence: The art of mindful indulgence
Hyatt’s initiative is based around the idea that indulgence can coexist with mindful consumption. By sourcing local, sustainable ingredients from Thai farmers, Hyatt is staying true to its ethos of Food Thoughtfully Sourced. Carefully Served.
The menus feature a symphony flavours. Dishes are designed to meet a range of dietary restrictions, from gluten-free to vegan options, all without sacrificing taste.
Hyatt Asia Pacific’s vice-president of F&B Christophe Sandones said of the programme:
“Healthy and delicious can go hand in hand. We aim to make healthy eating a pleasure, and healthy food that you enjoy. [We believe in] “Good eating and good drink”
Sandra Lim, the certified nutritionalist behind the program, explains further the philosophy:
“Mindful indulgence doesn’t mean deprivation.”
It’s all about enjoying your favorite foods, but knowing that they’ve been prepared using the freshest ingredients and with a focus to your health and wellness.
Healthy eating traditions
Thailand is a country with a rich culinary tradition, and it’s the perfect place to launch Be More Foodie. Mindful Indulgence. It invites diners for a carefully curated menu of dishes and drinks.
Thai classics like Pad Thai, Gai Yang and Mango Sticky Rice have been given a mindful update, with reduced sugar, added fibre and improved nutritional value, while still maintaining their authentic flavours.
Western comfort foods are also elevated by adding nutrient packed ingredients. For example, whole grain pizzas topped off with local organic vegetables or buckwheat crêpe suzette topped with mixed berries and an orange.
For drinks, expect a variety of low-alcohol or zero-alcohol drinks and smoothies that are both functional and delicious.
Integrating sustainability
Hyatt’s commitment towards sustainability is woven throughout the entire programme, and goes above and beyond the standard. The use of locally sourced products not only enhances the flavours, but also reduces carbon footprints. But the sustainability initiatives don’t end there.
Hotels are also implementing eco conscious practices behind the scenes. From reducing food waste, to minimising single-use plastics. This is further enhancing the hotels’ environmental stewardship.
Dine with purpose
Hyatt’s Be More Foodie : Mindful Indulgence initiative is more than just a dining program; it is an effort to create a more sustainable, thoughtful approach to eating.
By combining culinary artistry and wellness, the hotel chain is setting a standard for luxury dining, in Thailand. It’s a place where guests can enjoy every mouthful, knowing it’s good for them, but also for the environment.
Hyatt’s approach is timely and innovative in a world that is increasingly focused on wellness. Their menus prove that mindful eating does not have to sacrifice flavour or enjoyment. It’s about making healthy choices that are good not only for you, but also for the world.
